چکیده

The Rigorous Coupled-Wave Analysis (RCWA) is a method to compute diffraction of a field by a given grating structure. Within various applications such as metrology, it is important to know how the field reacts to small perturbations in the grating. This behaviour can be expressed by the field derivatives with respect to a certain parameter. Approximations of these derivatives can be found by using finite differences where the field is computed for neighbouring values of the parameter and the difference gives the derivative. Unfortunately, RCWA computations involve solving eigenvalue systems which are computationally expensive. Therefore, a faster alternative is given which computes the derivatives by straightforward differentiating the relations within RCWA. Solving additional eigensystems is replaced by finding derivatives of eigenvalues and eigenvectors, which is less computationally expensive. c © 2007 Optical Society of America

Hydraulic Parameters Sensitivity Analysis of Porous Media at Inverse Solution of Bromide Transport

Simulation of water and salt transfer in soil is very effective in managing optimal water and fertilizer use in the field. In this study, the HYDRUS-1D model was used to simulate the transfer of water and bromide in a laboratory column of soil with clay loam texture. Soil hydraulic parameters (including air entry point) α, (saturated hydraulic conductivity) ks, (residual moisture content) θr (s...

Tuning Shape Parameter of Radial Basis Functions in Zooming Images using Genetic Algorithm

Image zooming is one of the current issues of image processing where maintaining the quality and structure of the zoomed image is important. To zoom an image, it is necessary that the extra pixels be placed in the data of the image. Adding the data to the image must be consistent with the texture in the image and not to create artificial blocks. In this study, the required pixels are estimated ...

Spatial detection of ferromagnetic wires using GMR sensor and based on shape induced anisotropy

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...

ISOGEOMETRIC TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION OF STRUCTURES USING LEVEL SET METHOD INCORPORATING SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS

This study focuses on the topology optimization of structures using a hybrid of level set method (LSM) incorporating sensitivity analysis and isogeometric analysis (IGA). First, the topology optimization problem is formulated using the LSM based on the shape gradient. The shape gradient easily handles boundary propagation with topological changes. In the LSM, the topological gradient method as ...
